Sarah qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1986 and then moved on to working as an OT (mostly in mental health services) until 2007. She trained as a counsellor to diploma level and has taught on counselling courses to Masterís level as well as on the post-graduate OT Education programme at Bangor University.

 

Sarah was introduced to mindfulness in the 1990s and was trained by Mark Williams to teach mindfulness at that time. She took an Intern Program at Jon Kabat-Zinn's Center for Mindfulness in 1999.

 

She taught classes for the 'treatment as usual participants' for the Williams, Segal, Teasdale MBCT research which was published in 2000.

 

Sarah attended the Centre For Mindfulness Teacher Development Intensive Training in North Wales in 2001 and has offered mindfulness classes through a Community Mental Health Team for a number of years.

 

She has recently taught mindfulness to a variety of groups in the 8 week course format and also through Bangor Universityís Distance Learning Programme. She has delivered several introductory 1 and 2 day training events, mainly to professionals.
